The city of Gien

Gien welcomes you in a unique setting between history, nature and dynamism. Overlooking the banks of the Loire, the last great wild river in Europe, Gien reveals the vestiges of its prestigious past through monuments such as the church of Sainte Jeanne d’Arc or the Château Anne de Beaujeu. Famous for its International Hunting Museum, Gien is also famous for the prestigious earthenware factory that has contributed to its reputation.

Rich of a successful rebirth after the ravages of the Second World War, Gien combines elegance and modernity.

Gien, a city of more than 15,000 inhabitants, is developing thanks to its economic prosperity and cultural dynamism.

The Gien Faience Factory

Today, Faïence de Gien is both the first quality earthenware company in France and a successful company on the national and international market. Its products, with a very strong personality, stand out from other ceramics by the richness, the finesse and the variety of their forms and their decorations.
